THORNTON, Colo. – Thornton police are investigating after a toddler fell three stories from an apartment window Thursday afternoon.

The child, a 2-and-a-half-year-old boy, fell three stories from an apartment complex in the area of East 88th Avenue and Grant Street.

The toddler was reportedly pushed against a window screen, which gave way and the kid fell. The parents were home at the time of the incident, according to Thornton police spokesman Matt Barnes.

The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment, where he was listed as stable, awake and alert. He will be undergoing further tests, according to a Thornton Police officer at the scene.
