Teenage girl dies after ATV ends up in ditch in Weld County

WELD COUNTY, Colo. – A teenage girl died Saturday night and two others were injured following an ATV crash in Weld County, authorities said Sunday.

Deputies said the three teenage girls were driving ATVs side by side Saturday afternoon before ending up in a ditch that had water in it.

Two of the girls were able to get out of the ditch but the third wasn’t able to get out of the vehicle.

Fire and EMS units arrived to the scene in the 12000 block of WC7 76 near WCR 25 and extricated the girl to perform CPR.

She was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland where she was pronounced deceased at around 10:30 p.m., according to Weld County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Matt Turner.

The other two teenagers were also taken to the hospital but their conditions are unknown at this time.
