ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office investigated Wednesday a suspicious item left near, but outside, the gates of the Colorado Army National Guard building in Arapahoe County.
The center is on South Revere Parkway near Briarwood Avenue and includes offices for recruiting and more.
A bomb squad robot checked out the device, leading authorities to learn the item was not explosive and inert.

"It was likely some sort of car part," said Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Julie Brooks.
A witness told deputies a driver stopped for food then went for delivery at the armory, according to Brooks. The item was then seen hanging off the back door in the area.
"We think someone thought it fell off his truck and hung it there so it would be seen," Brooks said.
Revere closed down south of Briarwood for the investigation, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office, but reopened just before 1:30 p.m.
