PARKER, Colo. -- With the fast pace that comes with an average work day, sometimes we all need to slow down.
"I was hoping to stop people in their tracks for a moment," said owner of Bagel Stop Café, Kathryn Ainsworth.
And that’s exactly what Ainsworth did with 22 words, posted on the window of her bagel shop in Parker.
The message reads, "I love you. You’re probably thinking "You don’t even know me." But if people can hate for no reason, I can love."
"I think that there’s a lot of conflict in the world right now, so I think it’s sort of nice to see something that just brings us back to humanity." said customer Catherine Liggett.
"I wanted to spread the word that, you know, we need to look out for each other, we need to love each other more, have more patience these days," said Ainsworth.
Because at Bagel Stop Café, it’s not just about the food. It’s small acts of kindness that can turn a persons day around in what has already been one of the hardest years for so many.
A customer who posted a picture of the sign on Facebook has almost 8,000 likes and more than 100,000 shares.
"Having that many people read the same words, that many other people have read and sharing and contacting their loved after who knows how long... I know you can’t see it, but it does make me sort of tear up," said Ainsworth.
A message of love in during a time of division and uncertainty.
