NORTHGLENN, Colo. – Two people were injured in a fire at a complex of townhomes late Tuesday evening that neighbors are saying happened after an explosion rocked the building.
The fire happened just before 9 p.m. at a complex located at 11600 Community Center Drive. North Metro Fire said two people were “attended to” for injuries and that they were then hospitalized.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire by just after 10 p.m. and move on to the investigation process. North Metro Fire said no other injuries were reported and that the fire appears to have been contained to the single townhome.
But neighbors said they heard an explosion before the fire and felt the building shake. One provided Denver7's Liz Gelardi with a photo of the alleged explosion.

Other residents of nearby townhomes will be displaced while crews investigate the fire's cause, but will be helped by the Denver branch of the Red Cross, North Metro Fire said.
Crews had to battle the flames from outside because the townhome had become unstable, North Metro Fire said.
