'It's a Wonderful Life' play by Tapestry Theater

Posted

A theater company that specializes in helping people with disabilities learn to act and perform onstage will hold its first showing of one of America's most beloved holiday films.

Tapestry Theater's first showing of "It's a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play" starts Friday night at Louisville Arts Center.

"It's a Wonderful Life" will be performed by about a dozen actors and actresses through the weekend. It's a radio play, which means instead of physically acting out the movements, the play is performed as if through a radio studio in front of a live audience.

"We've been rehearsing this about three months now, since the beginning of the school year," said Sienna Sewell, a actress mentor for Tapestry. 'It's a Wonderful Life' is about a man who is a very kind man. He is very generous to everyone in town, but he has a lot of hardship."

The play costs $15 for general admission. It runs through Sunday night.

Information about the play can be found on Tapestry Theater Company's website.
