JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. -- Deputies have identified two suspects accused of leaving tacks strewn along a popular bike route.
At least eight cyclists had their tires flattened by the tacksin early July on Deer Creek Canyon Road near South Valley Parkway.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office told Denver7 that deputies issued a summons to Calvin Chambers, 27, on charges of criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. Both are misdemeanor charges.
"Chambers purchased the thumbtacks at a local King Soopers and was subsequently identified through the purchase transaction and store video surveillance," the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in statement sent to Denver7.
Deputies said they expect to issue a summons to the second suspect next week.
