LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A man in a motorized wheelchair was hit and killed crossing the street Friday morning.
It happened on 14th Avenue at Reed Street, one block from Colfax Avenue.

Lakewood police told Denver7 the victim, later identified as Stephen Tinoco, 79, was hit by a Ford Explorer.
The driver told police they didn't see the wheelchair because of sun glare, officers said.
Police said the driver is not suspected of any alcohol or drugs and is not being cited for any violations. Toxicology results are pending for Tinoco at this time.
