LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- For Christine Gallegos, old pictures revive the most beautiful moments she has of her father.

"I mean, he was a good dad. He was there for us when he could and he never let us down," recounts the Lakewood woman.

When multiple strange photo albums appeared on her door step, it hit close to home. On the cover of one of them was a message.

"I'm sorry but a vet lost all his pics, I'm homeless myself and I would try to get these home. If you know this kid please help," the message read.

Confused by why someone would trust her with finding who it belongs to, she looked inside.

"Pictures of a US Marine who looks happy and seems to be enjoying his tour of duty. I would like to think that my dad made friends the way this man did. It's just crazy to think how one person's life can be just in these books."

Inside the found photo albums were memories of a veteran and his family. Gallegos says the pictures were endless.

"One page is of a baby shower and the next is of Halloween and birthdays and Christmas."

Until she finds who it belongs to, she wants the owner to know that their memories are safe.

"For however long it takes until they're reunited with the proper people, they're going to remain in my hands safe and sound," she said.
