Lakewood woman says neighbor uses several cars as storage units outside apartment complex

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Lakewood resident Margaret Cardova says it’s a challenge trying to find parking at her Plaza Del Lago apartments because her neighbor fills all of the parking spots with auctioned off cars. 

 

Tanisha, who didn’t want to give us her full name or show her face, is who Cordova says is the owner of the cars.

 

However, Tanisha said none of the cars Margaret pointed out are hers expect one. 

 

Tanisha said she has two cars and her aunt who lives with her has three. 

 

“Nothing we do is illegal -- nothing,” said Tanisha. 

 

But the Homeowner’s Association says that since July of last year, they have towed 11 cars belonging to Tanisha

and her aunt. Tanisha continues to deny those cars are hers.

 

The HOA told Denver7 not much can be done because Tanisha is allowed to park cars there for 72 hours at a time and removes them within that time frame.
