Lakewood PD, West Metro Fire get in ‘heated' challenge over flaming porta-potties

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – You’ve heard of the Ice Bucket Challenge and the Mannequin Challenge, but nothing will prepare you – or confuse you – more than the “port-a-potty challenge.”

We’re still trying to wrap our heads around it ourselves.

At around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, the Lakewood Police Department posted photos to their Facebook page of an officer extinguishing a porta-potty fire.

"Your move, West Metro Fire Rescue,” read the post followed by, “We will happily loan you a complete set of handcuffs and MAYBE a Taser to you guys if you want to try your hand at policing.”

Awkward, right?

But the West Metro Fire Rescue wasn’t having any of it and so they fired back with their own Facebook post, giving the department a lesson (or five) in proper fire-extinguishing methods.

“Hey, Lakewood Police Department. Thanks for the stop on the flaming porta-potty. Good technique. However, you might need a bit of training before taking on something a big bigger.”

Would you like some aloe vera, Lakewood PD? ‘Cause you just got burned. Just kidding (sort of).

We’re still not sure what the social media personnel from both departments were trying to accomplish – but it was funny nonetheless.
