HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo., - A Highlands Ranch man is missing in Grand Tetons National Park.

A park spokesperson confirms 21-year-old Rene Dreiling was last seen Wednesday afternoon hiking on a trail on the north shore of Jenny Lake.

The search includes more than 50 people on the ground and a helicopter crew searching from the air.

A park spokesperson said they’re searching the Cascade Canyon, Hanging Canyon and Table Mountain areas.

Dreiling spent one year running track at Valor Christian before transferring to Mountain Vista High School.

Back home, those who know Dreiling are praying for his safe return.

“Our community is praying for him and his family, it’s a tough time for them and we just pray that he’ll be found safe and be back here where he’s supposed to be,” said Brian Kula, who’s the track coach at Valor Christian High School.

Dreiling's remembered for his strong, uplifting personality.

“Just an awesome kid that was in the program, kids loved him, smile on his face, kind of a pop in my office kind of kid, just a really athletic little guy, would always entertain the team with backflips,” said Kula.

A park spokesperson said Dreiling’s plans were unclear and anyone who has been traveling in the Teton backcountry since Wednesday may have seen Dreiling.  Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call Teton Interagency Dispatch Center at 307-739-3301.
