GREELEY, Colo. – One person was killed and four others were injured in a head-on crash Saturday night in Greeley, and police say alcohol is suspected to have been a contributing factor in the collision.

Greeley Police responded to the crash in the area of 16h Street and the US 85 Bypass just before 7 p.m.

At the scene, investigators said a 1999 Honda Civic going south had crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided with a 2003 Honda Pilot.

The driver of the Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver’s identity will be revealed once family has been notified.

Inside the Honda Pilot were four occupants, all whom were taken to North Colorado Medical Center.

Police identified the passengers of that Honda Pilot as Fernando Arroyo Robles, 38, of Greeley (driver), Teresa Arroyo Zavala, 36, of Greeley (front seat passenger), Andres Arroyo Zavala, 5, of Greeley (back seat passenger), Josue Arroyo, 1, of Greeley.

Investigators said both passengers in the front were taken into surgery for their injuries and were last listed in serious condition.

The 1-year-old boy was reportedly held by Zavala in the front seat and was unrestrained.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.
