The father stabbed in a wrong home invasion in Golden is speaking out for the first time since the attack two-and-a-half weeks ago, and thanks the community for an outpouring of support.
"Those acts of generosity have shown us that light will truly conquer dark," said Jesse Swift, the home invasion survivor. "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
The attack happened back on May 16.
Swift was stabbed when three suspects entered his home looking for cash and drugs. But, police have said the suspects got the wrong house.
On Thursday night, Swift and his wife, who was strong-armed by the suspects during the attack while their two children were in the basement, spoke at a community meeting about the need to move past this quickly.
"And make sure our kids have support and space, so that they can have a great and fun summer, too," said Jessica Swift.
Three of the four suspects are in jail and facing charges ranging from attempted murder to aggravated robbery.

Police say they went door-to-door in the days following the attack looking for the drug house in question, but that search turned up very little.
"We're just going to take the next few weeks, we’re kind of trying to just catch our breath and regroup," said Jessica Swift. "We know we’re going to be okay. We’re going to recover. We are going to trump through this."
