Police are asking for the public's help to find 20-year old Cody Aaron Jones.
Jones is suspected of being one of three men involved in a home invasion in Golden Monday night. One of the suspects told officers the group went to the home looking for drugs and $10,000 in cash.
Police said the group went to the wrong home and attacked a middle school teacher, leaving him in critical condition. That teacher, Jesse Swift, was able to grab a kitchen knife and stab one of the suspects, according to Golden police spokeswoman Karlyn Tilley.
That suspect, 21-year-old Caleb Williams, was arrested Monday night. A second male, a juvenile, was arrested Tuesday morning. One man, Jones, is still wanted.
"Jones is currently on probation for 2nd degree burglary charges, obstructing a peace officer, theft, and also has an active nationwide warrant for his arrest on another case," Golden Police said in a statement Tuesday.
Officers are also searching for an unidentified woman who was apparently driving the getaway car, police stated.
Swift has stab wounds to his kidney and a punctured lung, along with several other lacerations, police said.
"Fortunately, he is expected to survive," Tilley said.
The family's two children were in the basement asleep during the incident. Swift wife, who is also a teacher, escaped the home during the confrontation and called 911. She and the children were not injured.
