Glendale Police are calling a missing gun a public safety threat.

Someone stole a Knight's Armament Rifle, serial No. KM909090, along with 200 rounds of ammunition.

According to police, the rifle was stolen on March 28 at a party during spring break that was mostly attended by Denver East High School students.

Police say the owner was out of town when his son hosted the party. When the father returned, a neighbor told him about the party and he discovered the rifle and ammunition were missing.

The rifle, the ammunition and the Trijicon ACOG optical sight pose a safety risk, the Glendale Police Department said.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.

Denver Public Schools said while there is no evidence that the rifle was taken by an East High School student, the Department of Safety has increased patrols at the school.
