Fort Collins police said an officer did fire his gun, but no one was hit, during an arrest Tuesday morning.

Officers were called to the Village Gardens Apartments on Oxford Lane, near LeMay Avenue, at 5:08 a.m. on a report of a loud noise disturbance, and a possible explosion, according to Fort Collins police.

When officers knocked on the door, the suspect opened the door, brandished a weapon and the officer fired a shot, according to Kate Kimble, spokeswoman for Fort Collins police.

No one was hit and the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect's name has not yet been released.

The officer has been placed on paid administrative leave per policy, officials said.
