New CSU stadium expected to finish on time

Colorado State University's athletic director says progress is being made on the school's new $220 million stadium and that it will be completed "on time and on budget."

The Coloradoan reports that the stadium, which will have a capacity of 41,000 people, is expected to open in time for the 2017 football season.

Athletic Director Joe Parker told the Stadium Advisory Group that the structure is beginning to "shape up" and progress is being made each day.

The advisory group also heard concerns from residents about the stadium's impact on parking in a nearby neighborhood and on a proposed bicycle and pedestrian underpass connecting residents to businesses in the area.

The group agreed to discuss the underpass at a June meeting.
