FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Creating massive granite sculptures in his Fort Collins backyard is Chris Brown's hobby. For a little over a decade, he has taken reclaimed granite kitchen cutouts to create his art.

“Kind of like a glorified Lego set,” Brown said.

He has close to 20 sculptures that combine to weigh hundreds of thousands of pounds and his wife is very much on board with the granite gallery consuming their yard.

“I love my backyard. How it is now, with sculptures around my house is really good. Even though my backyard is getting smaller. But it’s okay,” his wife, Sky Brown, said.

Brown is also legally blind, so he does have some help from his wife and friends to make his vision come to life.

He has no plans for his “Granite Paradise” to stop growing anytime soon.

“Lord willing I’m far from done. I’m healthy. I’m 53 years old. It’ll be cool to what this becomes in ten more years,” he said.
