Police got reports of the two stabbed victims at 11:56 p.m. Both women were taken to Medical center of the Rockies in Loveland, where one of them, identified as Cathy J. Mondragon, 61, of Fort Collins, died shortly after. The other woman is being treated for multiple stab wounds.
After working several other leads, Fort Collins Police also arrested Tomas Vigil, 41, in connection to the stabbing.
Investigators don't know if there is any relationship between the women and the suspects.
The house where the stabbing happened is across the street from Barton Early Childhood Center at Stover and Prospect. The school operated on a normal schedule.
