DENVER (AP) -- Travelers looking to charge their mobile devices at Denver International Airport now have more options for places to plug in.

The Denver Post reports that the airport has installed nearly 10,000 charging ports in its public seating areas. Industry analyst Seth Kaplan says the addition is an important move for DIA, because two of its largest carriers -- Southwest and Frontier -- don't provide in-seat power on board their aircraft.

The installation of the charging ports is part of the airport's $4.7 million capital improvement plan, which kicked off in November.

Airport CEO Kim Day says DIA has also invested nearly $2.5 million to improve its Wi-Fi service for travelers.
