DENVER -- Police have arrested a suspect in the attack of a woman on the Highline Canal Trail.
The woman told police she was walking on the trail, near Dartmouth Avenue and Forest Street, just after noon on Friday, when she was attacked.
She managed to get a picture of the man from behind as he ran off.
Saturday night, police said they arrested a suspect.
Demarcus Bookhart, 25, was arrested on suspicion of assault.
"We are also looking to see if he is connected to any other incidents," Denver police said in a statement sent to Denver7.
Bookhart's wife told Denver7 that her husband is innocent.
"I'm not going to let him fall for something that he did not do and I know deep down in my heart that he didn't do," Diana Neyens-Bookhart said.
She believes her husband was set up.
