Shannon Ogden is joining Denver7 as co-anchor with Anne Trujillo.
“Shannon will be a great addition to our team. It was very obvious that he is not a cookie-cutter anchor. He’s an experienced journalist who is passionate about covering the news and connecting with our viewers,” said Brad Remington, vice president and general manager for Denver7.
Ogden comes to Denver7 from WLTV-TV in Jacksonville, Florida, where he has served as main anchor since 2006. Prior to this, he worked for six years as a reporter and anchor at NECN, New England Cable News, the nation's largest regional cable network.
“Shannon is as real as they come,” said Lindsay Radford, news director for Denver7. “He's not anchoring to be on television, but because he is truly passionate about the stories he tells and how they impact real people.”
Ogden has anchored some of the biggest national stories, including the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, the Rhode Island nightclub fire, and the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal.
Ogden holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Broadcasting from John Brown University.
He will begin his new position in mid-June.
