DENVER -- Hey, Denver! Now you'll have a new option to get to Westminster -- and you can do it for free this Monday during the grand opening of RTD's B Line.
"The Regional Transportation District (RTD) and its many partners will kick off B Line celebrations with a ribbon cutting at Union Station followed by the Grand-Opening Ceremony at the Westminster Station at 10 a.m.," an RTD spokesperson said.
The ceremony will include remarks from RTD General Manager and CEO Dave Genova, and elected officials. Also featured will be the unveiling of the B Line dedication plaque, according to a press release.
Free light rail service from downtown Denver to Westminster will only happen on Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fares to Westminster will be charged beginning on Tuesday.
However, the entire RTD rail system will be free to the public for the day on Saturday, July 30, from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m. For more information, please click here. Crowds are expected so University of Colorado A Line passengers heading to the airport should plan accordingly.
