Matt Farmen's love for the outdoors tragically put him in a wheelchair when he was 11-years-old.

“I hit a tree and broke my back when I was sledding."

But the electric wheel chair he recently bought makes him forget he ever sat in one.

“I do a lot of golfing with it, it allows me stand up fully and interact standing up as if I wasn't in a wheel chair,” said Farmen.

He took a $20,000 loan to buy the recreational chair and said it’s worth every dime. “It means freedom,” he said.

But Farmen said someone stole the cart from his apartment's garage on Thursday.

“It just kind of really hasn't sunk in yet, it's a big chunk of my life that was kind of gone,” said Farmen.

And with no leads from police, Farmen is left with little hope. But then, right in the middle of our interview, the apartment’s security staff approached Farmen and told him they found his stolen wheelchair.

“I just can't believe,” said Farmen.

Police will be reviewing the apartment’s surveillance camera to figure out who stole the cart.
