The Metro Auto Theft Task Force was investigating a stolen vehicle that eventually led them into the Denver area early in the evening, Denver Police officer Raquel Lopez said at the scene of the shooting.

A PIT maneuver was used to stop the vehicle from getting away and shots were fired in the area of Stapleton Drive and Ivy Street.

The following is a map of where the shooting was reported at around 8:30 p.m.:

No other information, including the identity of the suspect, has been released. The investigation is ongoing.

Denver7 has checked the numbers -- there have been 11 officer-involved shootings since Halloween along the Front Rage, including this one.
