Missing Douglas County teenagers who ran away from home found safe in Utah

Posted

DENVER -- Two Douglas County teenagers who ran away together have been found safe in Utah, parents of one of the girls confirmed with Denver7.

"Parents are on their way to Utah to pick up both girls right now. They're both safe and sound. We are so relieved," a poster on a missing person's Facebook page said Sunday morning.

A previous post mentioned local authorities in Green River, Utah, found both girls along with a car that was taken by Alysha Tibbetts.

Jennifer Tibbetts, mother to Alysha, said the teens left their phones behind and each left a letter to their parents saying they were gay and running away together.

“Please continue to pray as the girls are welcomed home. Pray for wisdom for parents and family as we process through everything together,” the poster said on Facebook
