A Denver man convicted of killing a woman and hiding her body in a plastic storage container more than a decade ago has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The Denver Post reports 52-year-old Jon David Harrington was sentenced Wednesday for the 2002 death of Carolyn Colleen Jansen. A jury convicted Harrington in August of second-degree murder.
Jansen's remains were found in June 2005 inside the plastic container in the backyard of Harrington's former home in Aurora. When contacted by investigators that year, he denied any wrongdoing and blamed a friend and Jansen's ex-husband.
But prosecutors say investigators recently matched Harrington's DNA to duct tape on the storage container.
Harrington and Jansen were former roommates.
