Denver police say a man is hospitalized with two broken legs after he jumped off a highway bridge after a chase.
The chase, involving the suspect in his vehicle, started near downtown early Monday morning after a report of shots being fired.
The chase ended when officers spun the suspect's car on eastbound I-70, near Vasquez.
Police say the suspect got out of his car and jumped off the highway bridge.
He fell about 40 feet and broke both legs, police said.
Investigators say the man told them he thought there was ground on the other side of the railing.
The man is hospitalized in serious condition, police said.
