The owner of an almost stolen SUV is OK after being shot at by would-be car thieves.
It happened around 6:20 a.m. on Utica Street, near Alameda Avenue.
According to a Denver Police officer on scene, the owner left his SUV running unattended Friday morning and when he came outside to leave for work, he saw a man and woman trying to steal the car.
One of the suspects fired a gun, then both of them took off, leaving the SUV behind.
The man wasn't hurt, but his SUV was hit by at least one bullet.
Early reports say the thieves were wearing masks and that they may have been successful stealing a second vehicle.
