An East High School student who was arrested last week after reportedly trying to rob another student was charged Tuesday.
Elhadji Samba Dioum, 19, was charged with attempted aggravated robbery, menacing and theft from a person after he allegedly tried to rob another high school student and threatened to shoot him with a gun that was later identified as a BB gun, according to Denver District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Lynn Kimborough.
The BB gun was also reported as stolen from another student, Kimborough added.
Dozens of Denver police officers responded to the school, located at 1600 City Park Esplanade, at around 2 p.m. to investigate.
No one was injured and there weren't any reports of shots fired.
Dioum remains in custody; his bond is set a $100,000.
Additional charges are expected to be filed against the student who brought the BB gun to school. He is a juvenile who has not been identified and is currently in custody at the Gilliam Detention Center.
