DENVER -- A burglary in an east Denver home ended in a shooting after the homeowner apparently confronted the burglar early Sunday.
The shooting was reported in the area of Green Valley Ranch Boulevard and Ireland Court at 5:40 a.m. Sunday.

One man was taken to a hospital and did not appear to be the resident of the home, according to Denver Police Department spokesman Doug Schepman. He was declared dead at around 12:30 p.m.
The shooting remains under investigation.
