Drivers and light rail riders are being affected by construction projects Friday through Monday.

5 light rail lines impacted

Five light rail lines are partially shut down, and will be until Monday morning.

RTD said there will be no service on the C, D, E, F and H lines north of the I-25 and Broadway Station until 3 a.m. on Monday.

Service on the W line is not affected.

"Passengers using the rail lines affected by the closure can expect delays and detours and should allow extra travel time to arrive at their destination," RTD-Denver said.

Rider alerts are posted at all impacted stations and RTD said it has ambassadors at the stations to direct passengers to buses.

Road closures for drivers

Drivers will see three road closures in downtown Denver.

Southbound Speer Blvd. is closed from Champa to Colfax for light rail repair and maintenance. Speer will remain closed until 4 a.m. Monday. Southbound Speer Boulevard traffic is being detoured onto Kalamath during the closure.

13th Avenue from Pecos to Osage is also fully closed for RTD light rail maintenance and repair work.

And Broadway is closed from Colfax Avenue to 17th Avenue to install new concrete and make other safety improvements at the Broadway and 16th Avenue intersection.

That area will reopen Monday at 5 a.m.
