DENVER -- The Denver Zoo's new lion cubs can now be seen by the public.
The one-year-old cubs moved to the Denver Zoo from a zoo in Kansas on July 13.
Their father was born at the Denver Zoo, he was sent to the zoo in Kansas for breeding.
The cubs -- Kito, Bahati, Usiki and Jasiri -- can now be seen in the maternity den area of Benson Predator Ridge. However, the cubs are not small, they each weigh more than 200 pounds.
The cubs were moved because their father was starting to push them out.
"[That's] a natural occurrence that is common in prides as males start to reach sexual maturity," zoo officials explained. "The lion cubs are not currently recommended to breed and will be housed separately from the Zoo's other pride."
In honor of the new lion cubs, The Denver Zoo is offering discounted admissions and memberships this weekend. From 1-5 p.m. on July 29, 30 and 31, guests will receive $4 off of admission or $16 dollars off of a family or family plus membership. Learn more here.
