As the Broncos playoff game against the Pittsburg Steelers approaches, police and ticket vendors are warning fans to be wary of online sites.
This week, Denver Police sent out an alert warning people to avoid online sites like Craigslist when buying game tickets.
Officers are searching for at least two men who they believe sold fake tickets online last November.
Candy Lewis, who sells tickets from her Glendale office, A. Lewis Tickets, said she only buys tickets to sell from people she knows since she opened her business in 1998.
"I think the Broncos organization has made it clear that you buy from someone that’s legitimate and you know that person you’re buying from,” she said.
Tickets for Sunday’s game against the Steelers range from the hundreds to the thousands.
Police suggest buying from sources that are verified like Stub Hub and Ticket Master or from people you know.
Lewis expects ticket prices to only continue going up.
"People have already called and are wait listed not only for the AFC championship, which is a week from tomorrow the 24th," she said. "They're wait listed for the Super Bowl."
