Denver International Airport is hiring extra staffing to help at the TSA security checkpoints this summer.
The added staff will help with non-security tasks such as moving bins, managing lines and passenger divesting, according to DIA spokesman Heath Montgomery.
Montgomery said the seven extra staffers will work from June 12 to August 20 on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays during the peak travel times throughout the day.
"TSA will provide training and oversight for these workers, who have all passed an airport background check," Montgomery said.
Montgomery said TSA is negotiating with various airlines to also use airline staff for the same types of non-security tasks.
