One person has died and five have been injured in a fully engulfed house fire in southwest Denver Tuesday evening, according to Denver Fire officials.
The fire was reported in the area of W. Stanford Avenue and S. Kipling Street at 6:54 p.m. as a possible basement fire. A family member who spoke with Denver7 said an elderly couple lived inside the house along with their bedridden son, who died in the fire.
Denver Fire officials said two people were inside the house at the time of the fire when three neighbors tried to rescue them from the flames. Those three passerbys were injured due to smoke inhalation and were taken to hospitals for treatment.
The identity of all those involved in this fire has not been released.
