A suspect has been charged with shooting and killing a man and injuring a 17-year-old girl outside a Denver apartment building last week.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey formally charged Jesse Lee Oliver with two felony counts -- first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
The charges allege that at about 11:15 p.m. on Sept. 16 Oliver shot and killed Bobby Brown, 34, and injured the teen girl outside of an apartment building near the area of Peoria Street and Albrook Drive in Denver.
Oliver was arrested at the scene and remains in custody in the Downtown Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.
He has a seven-page criminal record in Colorado, including past arrests for weapons possession by a previous offender, drug possession, child abuse, domestic violence, assault and vehicular eluding.
Oliver was arrested in Denver in 2011 on seven felony counts involving child prostitution, including trafficking children, pandering a child and pimping of a child. He was also charged with pandering-induce by menacing.
Oliver pleaded guilty to one count of felony pimping and the district attorney dismissed the other charges. Court records show he was given a suspended sentenced of six years in state prison and credit for serving 86 days in jail. He was ordered to serve four years of probation.
