Delta Airlines system outage affecting flights nationwide; Delays at DIA

Posted

DENVER -- A system outage at Delta Airlines created a lot of headaches for travelers nationwide Sunday evening.

The company said in a statement that employees were "expeditiously working to fix a systems outage that has resulted in departure delays or flights on the ground," adding that flights in the air have not been affected by this outage.

The issue was felt at Denver International Airport, where employees were "processing passengers the old-school way" instead of electronically, according to airport spokesperson Heath Montgomery. Flights were not grounded but there were up to 90-minute delays.

This latest airline glitch follows last Sunday's "technical issue" with all domestic United Airlines flights

Planes were grounded for about an hour as staff tried to fix issues nationwide.

The nature of the technical issue was never revealed.

Airport officials suggest you check your flight status to avoid problems.
