DENVER -- A Conifer man is doing his part to bring Americans together after this year's bitter election season.

Jeff McNamara told Denver7 it’s time to come together for something bigger than all of us.

When his work day ends, his patriotic duties begin.

On Friday night, he braved the cold to wave the American flag at the intersection of Speer and Lincoln.

“It doesn’t matter who you voted for. Right now, as Americans, we’ve got to come together. We’ve got to be able to see there is more to America than sides and who won and who lost,” said McNamara.

Almost every day since the presidential election, McNamara has been on the side of the roads or overpasses around Denver waving Old Glory for hours at a time.

McNamara said he does this to honor those who died fighting for the flag, including his father.

“It’s about freedom, it’s about liberty, it’s about the joy of being in the greatest nation on earth!” said McNamara.

McNamara said he plans to keep doing this until Inauguration Day, hoping to inspire pride in our nation among those driving by.

“This is a big country with big shoulders and we can be a great nation if we choose to be,” said McNamara.
