After months of collecting coats for those who need it most, "Coats for Colorado" officially wrapped up with a big a remarkable number of distributed coats: over 100,000!
"I needed a warm coat. All my other coats... the zipper is busted, so I thank God for these coats," Patricia Barnes said.
She lined up for hours Saturday morning to be a part of the distribution of "Coats for Colorado."
"It's a blessing to give coats to people that need it," Barnes added.
There was a worry early on in the drive that there wouldn't be enough coats collected because the weather was so warm.
"The people in this state really came out and brought us over 100,000 coats," Dependable Cleaners president Steven Toltz said, meaning no one in need of a coat left disappointed.
"No one is going to leave without a coat today -- if not multiple coats," Toltz added.
Denver7 was there to help out and make sure everyone got the coat they needed.
There were even some brand new coats given away courtesy of a donation from a local retailer.
But what about any of those coats that were left over? Those will be delivered to people who couldn't make the distribution, with the help of area nonprofits.
