DENVER -- Free parking is coming to an end at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. Mall management announced it will implement a new parking system being dubbed "smart parking."
The daily max rate is $16. The first hour is free, followed by $3 for the second hour, an extra dollar for hour three, and an additional $2 each hour thereafter.

"The Cherry Creek neighborhood continues to experience dynamic growth to the point where parking spots are coveted. The result is that the center’s lots are heavily used by customers, but also by those not shopping at the center," said Nick LeMasters, general manger for the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.
The new rates will go into effect January 2017. The new system will allow customers to instantly see how many spaces are available. Signs will also direct them to the most convenient spots.
"Our top priority is to make sure our customers have the best possible experience when they visit. This includes having easy access to parking and entrance to the mall, so the implementation of this parking program became essential," said LeMasters.
More information about smart parking is available on the Cherry Creek Shopping Center website.
