Body found near Frog Hollow Park, death investigation now underway

Denver Police are investigating after finding a body in the South Platte River early Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called out to the area of 8th Avenue and Zuni Street at around 1:42 p.m. for a report of a possible drowning, according a tweet sent by Denver Police Department.

An update came in three minutes later by police, stating that this was now a death investigation.

Due to the early stages of the investigation, the victim's identity or the cause of death is unknown at this time. The investigation into this death is ongoing.
