Arson investigators were at the scene of a body found in the Montbello neighborhood early Sunday.

Police and firefighters went to the area of Andrews Drive and East Elgin Place around 5:30 a.m. There was a tent in a driveway at the location, but it was unclear what the tent was shielding.

The Denver Police Department said this was a "death investigation" and updates would be provided as information became available.

A neighbor, who did not want to be identified, told Denver7 reporter Brendaliss Gonzalez that he found a lifeless body lying on the ground and on fire after he stepped outside and smelled smoke.

He said he immediately called 911 after discovering the body.

Denver Police say the person's cause of death will not be released pending an autopsy report from the Coroner's Office.
