Almost 500 flights have been canceled in and out of Denver International Airport Monday due to the winter weather.

An official tweeted early Monday morning that about 480 flights were canceled as a snow storm makes its way through Colorado. That storm system is expected to drop between 6 to 12 inches of snowfall in the Front Range by Tuesday morning.

FlightAware.com offers the following breakdown of flight cancellations:

  • 233 flights flying out of DIA (or 31% of all flights)
  • 255 flights coming into DIA (or 34% of all flights)

Frontier Airlines is reporting about 80 flights were canceled Monday, and 20 others will be canceled on Tuesday. For more information, click here.

Airport officials urge you to call your airline to check your flight status before heading out the door.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the entire Front Range and Eastern Plains until Tuesday morning.
