One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by an SUV on Denver International Airport's west side passenger drop-off. A second traveler was hit, but declined treatment and went on to catch their flight.

Police cited the driver of the black Acura, 75-year-old Edna Jones, with two counts of careless driving resulting in injury, said Denver Police Department spokeswoman Christine Downs.

Reports indicated that the traveler who was badly injured may have suffered a broken leg.

In addition to the two pedestrians who were hit, the black SUV caused apparent damage to two other sedans before coming to a stop against a pylon near an entrance for United Airlines.
