A fire destroyed an $890,000 home in Centennial Thursday morning.

The fire started around 4:30 a.m. at the home in the 5300-block of Nichols Drive, near Holly and County Line.

Deputies told Denver7 the house was sold this week and they don't believe anyone was inside.

The listing for the home said it had five bedrooms, five bathrooms and was 5,500 square feet. The listing said the home was sold Tuesday.

Firefighters said the fire started in the basement and spread to the 1st floor, the 2nd floor and the roof.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Fire officials said the house is a total loss.
