Wine-drinking church theft suspect arrested, police say

BROOMFIELD, Colo. -- Police have arrested a wine-drinking church theft suspect accused of stealing a laptop in Broomfield.

The theft happened Saturday evening around 8:20 p.m.

Broomfield police said the woman, carrying a black baseball hat and what appeared to be a glass of wine, walked into the First Baptist Church of Broomfield at 90 Emerald Street and stole a laptop from a table just inside the door.

Hours after Denver7 shared the video on TV and on TheDenverChannel.com, police said a suspect was arrested at 120th and Main Street.

Broomfield police identified her as 33-year-old Sara Ann Merrill.
