BROOMFIELD, Colo. – A home in Broomfield caught fire again just a day after firefighters had to put out a small fire in the attic believed to have been started by a lighting strike from a storm passing through the area late this week.

North Metro Fire Rescue crews were again called out to the home on 146th and Irving just after 6 a.m. Saturday, after neighbors reported seeing smoke and flames on the roof of the home.

A total of 20 firefighters worked for about an hour to contain the fire at the home before it was extinguished.

The home sustained heavy damage on the second floor and the roof, according to North Metro Fire Rescue officials. No one was at the home at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries to firefighters battling the blaze.

On Friday morning, crews went to the same home on reports of a fire in the attic believed to have been started by a lightning strike.

The cause of Saturday's fire is still under investigation.
