BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. – Officials are warning the public to keep an eye out for wild animals this time of year, after a female moose attacked two women in Boulder County recently.
The attack happened on June 2 in Jamestown near Overland and High Lake Drive at about 5 p.m., according to Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. Nick Goldberger.
The female moose was with two calves at the time of the attack, a Colorado Parks and Wildlife official told our partners at the Boulder Daily Camera.
The women, both in their 60s, suffered no major injuries, Goldberger said.
The CPW official said wild animals, specially females, will be with their young during this time of year and might become aggressive if they feel their young are threatened.
The official did not have information as to what caused the attack.
